Spring break is just around the corner, which means that it’s time to pack up the car, grab the kids, and get out of town. Whether you are going to the beach or hiking in the mountains, we have prepared a list for how to enjoy spring break with safety and pleasure.
1. Bring Snacks
Snacks are often the only way to keep the whole family happy on a road trip, so make sure to always have enough snacks. Grab a cooler and pack a variety of choices like raisins and carrot sticks and/or animal crackers and chocolate chip cookies. Make sure that the kids can easily access the snacks on their own. Also, don’t forget about water bottles and juice boxes.
2. Learn About Your Destination
This spring break can entertain your kids before, during, and after your trip. Prepare a variety of learning activities for your children to learn about your destination. This could include cool things to do, roadside attractions, silly laws, or cultural differences. Check out this awesome National Geographic Kids Ultimate U.S. Road Trip Atlas!
3. Implement Screen-Free Time
We love gadgets just as much as the next guy, but don’t forget about family time in the car by playing classic travel games. Not only do kids love these games, but they love the attention they’re getting from their family members, and that family interaction will definitely make for a memorable road trip. These games could include: I Spy, the License Plate Game, Mad Libs, or Word Games.
